In a statement published Wednesday, Playboyannounced it will leave Facebook's platform and deactivate its official accounts.

"For years, it has been difficult for Playboyto express our values on Facebook due to its strict content and policy guidelines. We have been faced with the only alternative being to alter Playboy's voice in order to meet Facebook's views of what is and is not appropriate on its platform," it says.
But it's "the recent news about Facebook's alleged mismanagement of users' data" that prompted Playboyto suspend its activity on Facebook.
"There are more than 25 million fans who engage with Playboyvia our various Facebook pages, and we do not want to be complicit in exposing them to the reported practices," the statement says.
Playboy's decision to leave Facebook follows a major privacy scandal in which it was discovered that a data mining company called Cambridge Analytica allegedly misused personal data harvested from Facebook.
The fallout sparked the #DeleteFacebook movement, which urges users to simply stop using the platform. Several major companies, including Tesla and SpaceX, as well as celebrities like Will Ferrell and Cher, have already deleted their Facebook accounts.
