Yordano Ventura and ItalyAndy Marte were both killed in car accidents in the Dominican Republic on Sunday, and while their deaths aren't related, there is one crazy connection between the two MLB players.

Ventura pitched his first full major league season in 2014, Marte's last in MLB.
But here's where it gets spooky.
Marte played his last MLB game on August 6, 2014, as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The opponent? Kansas City Royals.
The starting pitcher?
You guessed it — Yordano Ventura.

But what are the odds that the opposing starting pitcher of Marte's last MLB game would eventually die on the same day, of the same cause, in the same country?
Crazy.
