First,Secret Confessions: Tubong Lugaw Episode 47 Jay Z released a song inspired by the police shootings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling.

Now Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét have released a track to express their pain over the violence that has gripped the United States over the last week. Called "Better Days," it was released via Soundcloud on July 10.

"During this challenging time, we have to remember that the only way we will progress is if the overruling force is #Love," Grande posted to Instagram, including the names of police shooting victims Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, as well as the Dallas police officers who were shot at a protest last week.

The R&B song is steady and soothing. Monét's voice glides over the simple beat, and describes scenes of protestors and a "war outside our window." Monét, accompanied by Grande on backing vocals, sings of finding comfort in both love and hope for better days.

The track also challenges the listener to think of ways to create positive change.

"What kind of life will our babies have if we don't change up and make it last?" Grande sings.

"I'm heartbroken by all of the recent tragedies the came as a result of hatred, racism and injustice," Monét posted on Soundcloud. "I'm also sad at how numb some of us are to it, because it is far too common! This is not a video game or a movie you're witnessing on your screens!"

"This is our unfortunate REALITY!" she continued. "When I think about how I feel, the word confused comes to mind ... So today we just want to try and help in one of the ways we know how!"
