In the words of the greatest Batman villain ever,Bad Detective: Food Chain [Uncut] "If you're good at something, never do it for free."

Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight first premiered on July 18, 2008. Now, 10 years later, in honor of the film's anniversary, Warner Bros. is bringing the beloved superhero flick back to IMAX theaters.

A return to the big screen is especially fitting for the film's re-release, considering the role it played in pioneering IMAX technology. If you didn't catch the film in its "intended" (and gargantuan) form the first time around, here's the perfect chance to fix that 2008 FOMO.

The one week re-release promises to grow The Dark Knight's already record shattering $1 billion box office, but tickets for the event will be limited.

Tickets for opening day will go on sale this Friday, June 20. Additional showtimes will be announced closer to screenings.

Following its original release, The Dark Knightreceived eight Academy Award nominations and, at present, still holds a 94% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
