【Girlfriend Who is Crazy About Big Things (2025)】
If there's something you want to know about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,Girlfriend Who is Crazy About Big Things (2025) just ask Angela Bassett.
The queen of Wakanda (and of our hearts) dropped two tantalizing nuggets of information during a recent interview about the post-Infinity Warstate of the MCU. If you haven't seen April's Avengers movie, or you more generally want to avoid anything that could be construed as a spoiler, stop reading now.
SEE ALSO: Who's who in 'Avengers: Infinity War'Still here? OK, so. During an interview promoting Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Screen Rant asked if Black Panther's Ramonda survived the snap heard 'round the universe after Thanos assembled his coveted Infinity Gauntlet. Bassett gamely said that she had, but she didn't stop there.
"No [I didn't die]," she said. "Neither did my daughter. Shuri, she's a bright girl there in Wakanda."
Bassett elaborated even further on how things are going for Queen Ramonda and Princess Shuri in a post-Infinity WarMCU, during an interview with ABC News.
"I think she's still there in the throne room," Bassett said. "Or she's safely ensconced in the Wakandan Palace, because we didn't see her 'poof' into ashes -- her or Shuri. So mama and baby girl are going to have to right this world back together, because it was pretty much decimated...in the last Avengers."
Bassett feels confident that Wakanda will carry on without T'Challa. She's upset that Black Panther went "poof" -- "That's my son!" she exclaimed -- but her fictional home country's grasp of technology gives Wakanda a leg up on the rest of the world.
Her hope for now is that she'll have more to do in Black Panther's inevitable sequel. Ramonda has a big role to play in that first movie, but Bassett wants a piece of the action in any return to that character.
"I would kid when we were working, saying, 'When we come back for [the sequel], she's going to really get into the game,'" Bassett said. "You're gonna see some of her skills and [Black Panther will] say, 'That's my mama.' She's going to throw down."
