More reporters than residents -- just eight -- gathered in a single ballroom of the town to watch the results: Hillary Clinton 4, Donald Trump 2, Gary Johnson 1 and -- surprisingly -- Mitt Romney 1.

The tradition of voting early in Dixville Notch dates back to 1960, when the township voted for Richard Nixon.

In the Senate's race, Republican Kelly Ayotte and Democrat Maggie Hassan each got four votes. In the governor's race, Republican Chris Sununu picked up 6 votes, while Democrat Colin Van Ostern picked up 2.
