Not only did the cult hero show up to the launch of the new bar and resturant, owned by his son Homer Murray and partners -- Bill got to workserving up shots, singing jovially and just generally being the legend that he is. He even reportedly took four shots in the first five minutes.

"This is my first born-son, Homer. I am so happy that he has not continued in the family business," Murray said in a toast. "Instead, he has taken the joy of the family to have a drink, and have a meal, and have friends together in one place, and made it his life's work. To my son, and his friends, and his work friends and all of his partners."

According to Gothamist, of the hordes of fans who showed up, only four "regular" people were allowed into the bar by publicists. And that was just because "they'd been here since 3am." Tough break, Bill Murray die-hards.

Guess the rest of us will have to watch the footage, squint and pretend we were there with the man himself.
