Log cabins993 Archivesa bit of a problem for writers.

On the one hand, they make pretty great places for a nice retreat -- somewhere quiet and out of the way where you can really focus on that latest project. On the other hand, they're scary as hell.

This is something Tom Taylor -- Marvel and DC Comics writer and creator of TV series The Deep-- recently discovered firsthand.

Taylor is currently working on a bunch of different projects: Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Manfor Marvel, DCeasedfor DC Comics (a horror book which sounds very appropriate in this case) and a feature film. To get his head down and focus, he decided to spend a few nights in a log cabin in the Australian bush.

And that's when things got spooky.

Here's Taylor's wonderfully creepy thread, in full:

Taylor told Mashable that he has another four nights left in the cabin.

"I’m slightly concerned, but determined to write this film, despite the very real possibility of sudden undead hordes," he said. "The package is sitting, unopened, on the table next to my computer. It hasn’t started screaming... yet."

Gulp.

Taylor's TV series The Deep is available on Netflix/BBC.
